Rating System

I've just finished reading "Rapture in Death" and I'm now in the process of planning out a review for it (in my head at the moment). Whilst thinking about this, I realised that I ought to have a ratings system for my reviews. I spent a bit of time trying to decide whether to opt for the usual alphabetical rating or use a numerical one similar to that used by Book Utopia Mom. In the end I decided to use what I know best and, being an ex-teacher, I went with the following:

Excellent
Books which I enjoyed so much I would keep and read again and again.

Very Good
Books I may keep and read again, but which had a few flaws which prevent it from getting the top grade.

Good
Books I still enjoyed reading but wouldn't necessarily ever read again. They may have been rather bland or other factors, such as weak plot or characterisation, bought the mark down.

Poor
Books where I only enjoyed bits of it or found it dull. It could have been an effort to keep reading.

Terrible
Hated the book. I may not have even finished it.

I was going to use the term 'wallbanger' for my fifth rating, but I couldn't be sure of whether this was a general term used by many blog writers or whether it could be particularly attributed to someone. After the hoo ha a few weeks ago, I decided not to risk it.

I hope this rating will be useful. I just have to knuckle down and write some reviews now.
