What I should be doing....
....Reading the sci-fi books I'm reviewing for Wave later in the week or at least a book which has been in my TBR pile for a while or finishing The Sin Eater's Prince which I am half way through.
....Writing a review of Dakota Flint's new novella Seeing You which is out today HERE at Samhain and which I promised to review.
....Sticking to my diet.
....Peeling potatoes for tea.
What I am doing.....
....Reading the yaoi novel, Sweet Admiration, which arrived from Sara this morning - thanks sweetie.
...Writing this blog post about nothing in particular (sorry, Dakota. Tomorrow, I PROMISE!)
...Eating one of those new jam and custard Jammie Dodgers which is definitely NOT on my diet.
...Contemplating serving oven chips instead of mashed potatoes cos I hate peeling potatoes.
What I want to do this evening....
....Have a warm bath
....Drink wine
...Have an early night
What I will be doing this evening....
....Going to an evening meeting where I shall return all buzzing and be unable to sleep for the third night in a row.
Hope your day is going more to plan :).

Possibly because I rarely have a plan, my day's going ok. ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can have a glass of wine after the meeting to mellow out and help your sleep?
Oh! Some yaoi arrived from you! Ack. I'm so behind...
Heh. No pressure and definitely no need to apologize.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you won't be able to have a warm bath, wine, and an early night, though. I hope you can manage that soon!
Oh and thanks for the mention and buy link. :)
Don't you hate making dinner/tea? I really need to get my kid cooking more.
ReplyDeleteI have not done as much as I'd planned, I need to get the next yaoi book in the mail and a million work things but ....
I've been waking up everynight at 3:00 or 4:00. I'm not sure if my neighbors are doing something to wake me up (since they moved their headboard away from my wall it's better LOL) or what it is. Luckily I can fall back asleep right away.
Hi, Jen. I hear you on that diet, ha, ha! Nothing like January to make us struggle and fail and feel guilty.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris
ReplyDeleteHub is pretty stubborn about not drinking wine mid-week as it's the slippery slope, apparently, so the glass of wine probably wouldn't have happened anyway :).
Yay, you got the yaoi! Hope you enjoy it.
Hi Dakota
ReplyDeleteI do feel a bit guilty cos I have read your book and had it on my mental plan to review today. Bad Jen.
Unfortunately, lack of sleep has turned my brain to mush and am incoherent and unable to form proper sentences for extended lengths of time, so reviewing was beyond me today :).
Hi Tam
ReplyDeleteI hate cooking. HATE. IT.
The kids have to be fed though so I have to do it. In the end it was sausages and oven chips with broccoli which they all wolfed down so I don't feel too bad about the lack of mash.
I've not been able to get to sleep until after midnight (last night was 1.30am *groan*), then I'm waking up three or four times in the night. It's hard when that alarm goes off in the morning at the moment.
Hi Val
ReplyDeleteThe diet went really well last week and I lost 3 pounds, hooray! This week is hard because I'm so tired. Tired and diet do not sit well together :).
Hell, you had broccoli, that makes up for chips. We're getting leftovers tonight. Woohoo.
ReplyDeleteWell, the book you are waiting for at ARe - Katrina Strauss - is out there now!!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog!!
Anke.
Hi Anke
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
I looked earlier and the book still wasn't there. They must have just added it - hooray!
*pops over to ARe to buy*
Tam: We had leftovers yesterday. Ah, the interesting dietary habits of suburban households!
ReplyDeleteI got yaoi in the mail today from you Jen. Thank you!.
ReplyDeleteYou had more of a dinner then I had. I bought a few sandwiches on the station.
Hi Ingrid
ReplyDeleteGlad it arrived safely :).
I like sandwiches. If I wasn't married with kids, I'd probably live on them as there's no cooking involved!
Love the schedule alot, I was with you right up until you mentioned the meeting...
ReplyDeleteIf they are anything like mine - it's just another excuse to get slooshed all under the guise of meeting the girls...
Make sure you make it home in one piece.... have a pain killer on the bedside table and the coffemaker on a timer for the mornnig...
enjoy

Great post and I loved the pic!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the cooking, hate it. Congrats though on the diet, it's hard but worth it when they scale shows a loss.
Hope you have a great rest of the week!
I love cooking a meal on a Monday and then eating it for the rest of the working week. Saves me time, particularly if I have dance class in the evening :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't wait for today to be over...am tempted to go to bed early just to hurry things along!
EH: Unfortunately it was a school governor meeting and there was no wine. Nor tea, coffee or biscuits which is a very poor show :). I didn't need the paracetamol.
ReplyDeleteLily: Thanks for the sympathy :). I am feeling a bit better today and have managed to resist the lure of the biscuit box so far.
ReplyDeleteOrannia: That's a great plan. Unfortunately I think the kids would mutiny if I did that :).
ReplyDeleteYou go dancing? That's great! I have two left feet so no dancing for me cos I'm dangerous on the dance floor.
Jam and custard... yummo, they sound divine.
ReplyDeleteHi Sean
ReplyDeleteThey are yummo. Too yummo in fact. I need a lock on the biscuit tub and to give hub the key :).
Hope you enjoyed the yaoi novel :). It was so... Japanese *g*. I liked it!
ReplyDeleteSoaking in warm water with a glass of wine sounds heavenly... hope you will be doing it soon ;).
Hi Sara
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it muchly and now must get my arse in gear to send it onto Tish :).
