  2. Hi Anne
I could spend hours in Lush :). Hub finds it intimidating. I see it as a true measure of his love for me that he will brave going into Lush to buy me stuff for birthdays and Christmas :).

What does that actually entail, Jen? A negligee set ala Barbara Cartland?? Do tell. :)

  6. Kris: Ha! If only my attire was so exciting. At the time I was wearing black cords, a tan coloured top with 3/4 length sleeves and a black cardigan. You don't really want to know about the underwear, do you? :)

  7. Chris: Mysterious? I don't think so. I am the world's most boring person.

  8. EH: Alice was my cat who died about 18 months ago. I still miss her and it was weeks after she died before I stopped looking on my bed for her whenever I walked into my bedroom.

  9. Oh, your Alice story just tugged at my heartstrings. I am the world's biggest sap when it comes to pet stories.

Interesting glimpse into your life, Jen!

  10. Thanks, KZ. Alice was just the sweetest cat with a lovely forbearing temper. My other cat, who is still alive, is a neurotic, bad-tempered thing!

  11. Don't you think that rather reflects the circumstances of human life and death? ;-)

  12. Thanks, Jen! :)

I love getting the chance to learn more about my online friends. I'll work on mine this evening.

  13. KZ: Yes, irony rules in my house :).

Lily: No problem, sweetie. I'll pop over and read yours later :).

  14. Congrats on the award! :D

I don't think I've ever been in a Lush. Is it a northern chain?

  15. You used to be able to smell them from 500 yrds JL. They toned it down a bit though.

Great answers Jen and congrats on the award.

Oh, the things that ran through my mind...
Don't worry, I've googled them now and know what they sell! ;D

  17. Hi JL
I thought Lush was everywhere! I know they have a store in Leeds and Aberdeen. Ingrid is right, the smell from down-wind of a Lush store is wonderful.

Mind you, this is the main reason that hub won't go in the store - he says it offends him to come out smelling all girly after only being in the place for 15 mins.

  18. Ingrid: Thanks :)
Do you get Lush stores in the NLs?

  19. *g* You'll have to tell your hub how sorry you are that he's not secure enough in his masculinity to go into Lush... ;D

Apparently they are everywhere (I've looked at a store map) and I just don't get out much!

  20. Hub is now telling me that the girly smelling thing is not the main reason he hates going into Lush.

Apparently it's the way that he is accosted by the shop assistants within 10 seconds of stepping foot in the shop. And then being patronised as though he'd never heard of nice smelling soap before. And yes he can make up his own mind about which products he wants to buy without the help of a college student to guide him.

His only complaint about the smell is that it's impossible to smell any of the individual products because you can't distinguish it from the overall aroma in the shop.

    Hub dictated this.

  21. *makes mental note to keep scent-sensitive self far from Lush*

  22. Oh, the over-attentive shop assistants, eh?
    I feel his pain. *nods*

  23. So you're blondish? For some reason I always imagined you as dark brown. Why, you ask? No clue. lol

I had to look up Lush and Zafira. I feel so out of it. :)

  24. We have several in NL. I also noticed the over eager shop assistants. They are way annoying. I rather look on my own for a few minutes. If I need help I will call someone.

  25. Chris: Yes, I advise you to stay far, far away from Lush if you have a very sensitive nose.

  26. Tracy: It's funny the mental images that you get of bloggers when you've never seen what they look like. I shall have to send you a photo.

A Zafira is not exactly my 1st choice for a car, but with 4 kids we need something big that will fit everyone in!

  27. Ingrid: I have to say that I agree with you and hub on this one. You do get rather 'pounced' on as you step in the door at Lush.

Don't be shy now...tell me what you really think.
