Introducing...

As many of you know, mainly cos I've been going on about it on Twitter for weeks, I've been in the process of adopting two four month old kittens.  They arrived yesterday and are now starting to settle well into my already chaotic household - by which I mean adding greatly to the chaos!

I promised several people some pictures so rather than do anything book related, here are some pictures of my kittens.

Meet Fred.  He's the slightly smaller and more timid one who lets his brother take charge.

Meet George.  He's bigger and more adventurous.  He likes waiting until his brother isn't looking and then pounces on him and apparently he always gets first dibs at the food bowl.

Here's one of them together looking ultra cute.

They also like the laptop.  George managed to pop two keys off the keyboard this afternoon - eek!  Fortunately it mended.

So there you go.  My Kitties!

  1. OMG, so cute. What is it with kitties and keyboards? Enjoy your new babies, I'm sure they'll keep you on your toes.

  3. Tam: Was getting a bit peeved with them this eve because I was trying to send emails and Fred was insisting on sitting on the keyboard. Hub said "why don't you go and sit in another room then?" (we're keeping them to the kitchen and dining room until tomorrow to acclimatise) but I couldn't bear to leave them! I'm such a sap.

LB: Hub thought of the names and we all agreed it was perfect :).

Kris: They are already causing heaps of trouble so goodness knows what they will be like in the weeks to come!

  4. AAAAAAwwww too cute :) Kittens always are. Good luck with them. I would have taken a cat if I had the possibility to put him outside.

My dad is named Fred, hehe

  5. Ingrid: Yes they are very cute. We had to be vetted by the RSPCA before we could adopt from them. It was very rigorous and we nearly didn't get accepted because we live less than 100 yards from a road which gets busy during rush hour. Fortunately the fact that we'd had two other cats who'd lived at our house and survived to a ripe old age meant that they deemed the road not too bad - phew! Another of their stipulations was that we had to live in a house with a front and back garden, which we do.

  9. They're adorable, and I'm so glad you're 'back'!

Why are cats always obsessed with laptops?

  10. Aw, so cute! Makes me pine for my very own cat again, rather than relying on next door's coming around :)

  11. KB: Not too wittle :) They seem quite big for four months old so they could be rather big cats once they've grown!

Chris: It's a pain in the back side. Fred especially doesn't seem to take no for an answer when it comes to climbing on the laptop.

Wren: This is why you need to join Twitter, so you don't miss out on all the exciting news :).

  12. Lily: They are fun - and they are keeping me on my toes!

Thanks, Sean :). In Fred's case I think it's the mouse on the screen moving around. George likes that it's warm.

Josephine: Ah but 'borrowing' your neighbours cat means no vet bills :).

  15. Too cute Jenre - I can imagine the kids baby-ing them...

George certainly looks the more precocious of the two...

    Congrats kitty Mommy..

  16. Thanks, EH :)

I am kitty mummy. They follow me around the house and make chirruping noises if they can't find me. If I sit down I get a lap full of kitten - often two when they then wrestle for top spot (nestled against me). It's super cute, but I'm not getting much done as a result.

I think I need to be firmer, lol!
